Documentarian April Wright is one of great chroniclers of cinema history and the physical spaces that are so important to viewing them. Her 2013 film “Going Attractions: The Definitive Story of the American Drive-In Movie” looked at the rise and fall of Drive-Ins across the United States, and she followed up it up with “Going Attractions: The Definitive Story of the Movie Palace” which explores the fascinating history of the great movie palaces, from Radio City Music Hall in New York City to the Broadway theatres of Downtown Los Angeles. Both films are essential viewing for anyone who cares about seeing movies on the big screen, and preserving that experience for the future.

I interviewed April this year for her new documentary “Back to the Drive-In” but I previously interviewed her for this film back in 2019 for my old podcast One Week Only. You can now listen to it on YouTube!
